My name is Lou and I am trying to raise funds to help my sister keep her house. She has devoted her life to caring for others, and now she needs help. After battling cancer, she cannot work outside the home and was recently let go from her employment while recovering from extensive back surgery.

Nancy has been a registered nurse since 1976, caring for people from infants to the elderly initially as a nurse and then a long-term care facility administrator. Some years ago, Nancy had to provide 24-hour care for our elderly mother and in doing so, quit work and depleted her savings while caring for mom until mom passed.

Shortly after mom died, Nancy was stricken with Acute Myeloid Leukemia and given 3 months to live. With sheer determination and wonderful doctors, she is currently in remission yet is unable to work outside the home due to her compromised immune system.

Fast forward to the present, she had found a steady work from home position with a company, and after several years with that company, they terminated her while she was on short term disability from a major back surgery. The reason they provided for her termination was due to "restructuring".

So now, she has been placed into a situation where she is forced to ask for help. She has been applying to numerous job postings, looking for remote work to help make ends meet while still conscious of her medical condition, to no avail.

The monies raised will help her pay some other debts that will enable her to then concentrate on keeping her home with the limited income available from her Social Security.
