Support Keom's Medical Recovery

We are coming together to help our friend, Keom Granger, beloved Chicago yoga teacher, Pilates teacher, and Thai Bodyworker. Keom suffered a mild, diabetes-related stroke on Sunday, August 25th. He has just been released from Cook County hospital where he was being monitored for the past few days. We are reaching out to enlist your support in helping Keom cover his living expenses and medical bills during the next several months.
It will be some time before Keom is able to resume his full previous work load (he has a private Thai Bodywork practice and teaches Pilates and yoga at Chaturanga and FFC). He has lost some function of the left side of his body and was told he will need physical therapy for 3 months. Unfortunately, it is the nature of the wellness profession that many in this field are without health insurance. We wish it weren't the case, but many wellness professionals go without coverage for years, praying for good luck and no accidents.
Our intention is to help ease Keom's mind and allow his body to recover, so that he doesn't have to worry about the lost income from his regular teaching gigs. For three months, we roughly estimate his expenses to be:
Rent/utility expenses = $1,700 / mo
Food/Travel/Basic necessities = $600 / mo
Total = $6,900
We have also rounded up to an ask of $10,000 because if we could support Keom with an additional $3,100 towards uncovered medical expenses, it would be a good start. While likely insufficient, it will certainly be appreciated by our friend.
Whatever you can give, please do, so that Keom feels the embrace of this big-hearted community of caring friends, clients, and neighbors who have his back. No contribution is too small as it all is a gesture of love that is sure to mean the world.
