Sgt. Tony Knox's Cancer Fight

Donation protected
The Brothers and Sisters of the Robert J. King Memorial FOP Lodge 119, Hyattsville, Maryland, have started this fund to assist one of our own.
Sgt. Tony Knox has been with the Hyattsville City Police Department since 2006. Prior to that, Tony served with the Edmonston Police Department, and the U.S. Army.
Currently, Tony is one of our Patrol Squad Sergeants, and is in charge of the Department's K-9 section. He works faithfully everyday with his K-9 "Ori".
Approximately 5 years ago, Tony learned that he had a tumor growing behind his left eye. The tumor was removed, and he learned that it was benign.
Two years ago, Tony and his loving wife Meredith were blessed with triplets. Ethan, Logan, and Taylor have been providing constant entertainment and mayhem to deal with since their birth.
And, now for the reason you're here. This summer, Tony began having some issues with his left eye again. He went to the doctor and discovered that the tumor had returned, and that the "cells didn't look good". They removed as much of the tumor as possible and began testing. Unfortunately, this time, the tumor was cancerous. Tony went to a surgeon who specializes in head and neck cancers who reviewed all of his scans. It was determined that the cancer had spread to the bone around Tony's left eye. During the month of November, Tony will be undergoing a major surgery to remove his left eye, the effected bone, and the remainder of the tumor. He will then have to have some reconstructive surgery. Chemo and radiation are likely to follow.
At this time, we do not know how this will affect his career, but we do know that he will be out for an extensive period of time. Doctors visits (and bills) are coming fast.  We will be supporting this family as much as we can with sick leave donations, and other fundraisers, but we are asking that you join us in lifting this family up. Tony has dedicated his life to serving our country and our communities. He is a vital member of our department, and it is time for us all to make this fight easier for him.
