Sgt. Robert Ramsey UP Police Officer - Family

Sgt. Robert Ramsey was a 12 year veteran of the UP Police department. We lost him in a tragic accident while hunting on Lake Tawakoni. He leaves behind a Wife, two daughters, a step-son and grandkids. These funds will be given directly to his wife to help support the family.
Martin Gill and Lathram Pou (both UP residents) will be in charge of this Go Fund Me. We were not personal friends of Sgt Ramsey, but we are both Duck Hunters and UP residents and really felt that we should help in some way.

Sergeant Ramsey was born in Lufkin, TX and raised in Texarkana. He is 57 years old He graduated from high school in Texarkana, Arkansas in 1981
He attended Texarkana College and Texas A&M University in Texarkana where he graduated in 2003 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. He was also a certified officer in Arkansas from 1989 through 2003 and has an Associate Degree in Emergency Medical Technology.
During his career that began in 1983 Sergeant Ramsey worked in the Emergency Preparedness Department for Miller County AR.
As a firefighter and EMT with the Texarkana, TX Fire Department
As a police officer for the Texarkana Arkansas PD where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He also developed the departments K9 Unit
He was a certified teacher of Criminal Justice for the Texarkana Arkansas School District
As an Explosive Detection K9 handler for Blackwater International
As a Professional Mentor that supervised the Afghan National Police recruiting efforts for the Ministry of the Interior – he was a civilian contractor
