SGT Phillip Glen Nichols, 37, of Sapulpa passed away on July 13, 2019 at Saint Francis Hospital. Also know to all of his Army brothers as Steel “He was baptized by fire” or Ironknight 4G. We were all deeply saddened to hear you had left this earth you were an amazing soldier, friend and brother this earth will be just a little darker with out you here. We will all miss you see you on the green. SGT Nichols was born in Sapulpa, OK on January 19, 1982. He enlisted in the Army as an Armor Crewman in 3rdArmored Cavalry Regiment in Fort Hood, TX. He deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and New Dawn where he earned numerous commendation medals. He also served with the 1st Infantry division in Fort Riley, KS where he was a Master Fitness trainer for his company. He ended his Army career with the rank of Sergeant. SGT Nichols continued to serve his country with the Oklahoma National Guard. when the kids or his sisters would beat him, The things Phillip loved the most and made him beam with pride were his children. Jordyn, Kaiden, Mason, and River brought him so much joy, SGT Nichols was a registered organ donor and through this tragedy he becomes a blessing for many others. His family is so thankful that Phillip wanted to give those he didn’t know a second chance at life. He was a gracious giver even at the end. Phillip is now in heaven with his beloved mother, Linda. No doubt she greeted him with a big smile and the best mom hug ever! SGT Nichols is survived by his children Jordyn and Kaiden Nichols, Mason Gaither, and River Nichols; his wife Brandi Nichols; his father, Glen Nichols of Sapulpa; his sisters Amy Nichols, of Sapulpa and Missy Matlock (husband Tim) of Jenks; his nephew and nieces, Jackson Dalzell, and Camryn and Rylie Matlock. Phillip is preceded in death by his loving mother Linda Nichols of Sapulpa. All the money raised will go Directly to his wife and children as a token of our support to our brothers family
Visitation: Thursday, July 18th from 5-7pm at Greenhill Funeral Home in Sapulpa.
Services: Friday, July 19th at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Sapulpa.
