Officer Christopher Frunzi is a known name in Charlotte for his participation in the viral “Free Hugs” video during the Charlotte riots. .
Officer Frunzi’s son, Jackson, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia earlier this year and returned to Charlotte after entering remission to continue his two and a half years of chemo-therapy treatments. Three days after Frunzi Family returned to Charlotte, they had to rush their other son, 18-month-old Bennett, to the hospital as he was unsteady and unable to walk. When they arrived, Bennett was diagnosed with a Medulloblastoma brain tumor. .
The Frunzi family has now traveled back to St. Jude’s in Memphis to start chemo and radiation treatments for Bennett and continue treatments for Jackson.
