Sgt. Douglas A. Weddleton Scholarship
Donation protected
The Sgt. Douglas A. Weddleton Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the life and legacy of Sgt. Douglas Weddleton, who, in June 2010, was tragically killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver.
Each year, $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to (3) individuals. Each individual must attend Dr. Kiran C. Patel High School in order to be considered for this scholarship and must be committed to attending either a four-year accredited university or a two-year community college.
Awardance of the Sgt. Douglas A. Weddleton Memorial Scholarship is contingent upon acceptance into a university or community college in addition to a completed application.
The Sgt. A. Douglas Weddleton Memorial Scholarship is an outright grant and recipients are not expected to submit repayment. However, recipients can play a pivotal role in their own community by staying in school, driving safely on the roadways, and educating those around them on the dangers of drunk driving as well as distracted driving.
