Rocket Nation and the SG Wrestling community are united in profound grief as we mourn the loss of a true champion. September 17th, former Rocket wrestler, Detective Sergeant Cody Becker, tragically lost his life in the line of duty.

To know Cody was to know a man of unmatched dedication, grit, and unwavering selflessness. As a competitor, Cody was fierce and RELENTLESS, setting the standard for those who followed in his footsteps. His leadership and COMMITMENT to excellence helped build a legacy that shaped the SG Wrestling program into what it is today - one that celebrates team championships, state medals, and individual triumphs. His LEGACY lives on in the CULTURE he helped create, one that valued HARD WORK, perseverance, brotherhood, and a winning ATTITUDE.

Cody’s wrestling journey was defined not only by his achievements: a PIAA State Qualifier, team captain, and a proud member of the Century Club with 118 career wins. It was his character off the mat that truly set him apart. After his graduation in 2004, Cody continued his wrestling career at Millersville, returning home to mentor younger athletes and give back to the program that gave him so much. His humility and selflessness were unmatched, always putting others before himself - traits that carried through every aspect of his life.

In recognition of his lasting impact on the SG Wrestling community, Cody was honored with the SG Wrestling Alumni of the Year award, a tribute to his unwavering contributions to the sport and the athletes who came after him.

As we grapple with this heartbreaking loss, we remember that Cody was a hero - not just in his profession, but in every life he touched. His memory will continue to inspire us. To the wrestlers who walked with him, and those who will follow, we must carry his torch with pride, resilience, and compassion, just as he did throughout his life.
