Hi, my name is CPL Maxwell H. Baker and I am fundraising for my Brother Sgt. Artie O. Smith.

Sadly on June 1, 2025, Artie lost his battle with his demons and PTSD. He has left behind a wife, Destiny and two young children, Ava and Artie Jr (AJ) .

He and Des, had just started to break ground on a new house in their home town. They were looking forward to building a new home together and expanding their family to a third child.

He did 3 deployments, 1 to Iraq (2/24 WPNS Co.) and 2 to Afghanistan (4th LAR & 1/25 WPNS Co.).

He worked for several different companies as a Truck Driver and Mechanic.

He was a loving and doting Father, the Best of Friends and the Finest of Brothers. He had his own sense of humour that rivalled everyone's, and was the first to give his shirt off his back to help anyone, strangers alike.

He will be greatly missed by all; of that, I have no doubts. This fundraiser is to help compile any kind of funding that can be gathered to pass along to his family to help cover any costs that they’ll be incurring in the next weeks, months and years. Whether it be food costs, missed salary expenses, or costs to cover funeral arrangements, ANYTHING will help here.
