Support S.G.S. Vidyalaya

In a world where opportunity is often a privilege, an act of kindness is a beacon of hope.

I am Meera, a high school junior. The students at S.G.S. Vidyalaya located in Mumbai, India, come from truly underprivileged backgrounds. Their parents or guardians (some of the kids are orphaned) are not able to afford sending them to school, and many are still reeling financially from the pandemic. S.G.S Vidyalaya is a government aided school that runs on the dedication of teachers, volunteers, and trustees. For many of the kids, the midday free meal the school provides is their only meal for the day! I have had the opportunity to volunteer and teach at the school, and know many of the kids personally. I can attest that they are amazingly talented, hard working, and determined, with a true zeal for learning. They are a true joy to work with.

It costs $125 to sponsor a child for one year. The amount will go towards getting them uniforms, books, stationary, a nutritious snack, and cover transportation costs. Many parents don't want to send them to school as they cannot afford these costs, but dedicated teachers and trustees of this school work tirelessly to convince their parents to send them to school, spending their own money to help the kids come to school every day.

There are 135 children enrolled in this school this year, and my goal is to raise funds to enable every child to come to school, learn and succeed. Your donation will lift these young spirits and pave the way towards a brighter tomorrow.
