SGS Rugby Academy: South Africa 2027 – A Once in a Lifetime Journey
"There are opportunities in life that stay with you forever.
This is one of them.
In Easter 2027, the SGS Rugby Academy will undertake the biggest tour in our history—taking 55 of our male and female players to South Africa for a two-week experience that goes far beyond rugby.
We will compete in the prestigious St Stithians Rugby Festival, facing some of the strongest school and college sides in the country. For our players, this is the chance to test themselves against a completely different level of competition, in an environment that demands resilience, courage, and growth.
But this tour is about far more than results on a scoreboard.
It’s about exposure, perspective, and life experience.
Our group will:
• Walk through history on Robben Island, understanding the legacy of Nelson Mandela
• Stand on Table Mountain, seeing the world from a different perspective
• Experience 3-day game drives, witnessing wildlife and environments unlike anything at home
• Visit the Apartheid Museum, learning powerful lessons about humanity and equality
• Give back through community and charitable work, understanding the importance of service
• Build lifelong memories together, on and off the pitch
For many of our players, this will be the first time leaving the UK.
For all of them, it will be an experience that shapes who they become.

Why We Need Your Support
The reality is simple.
A trip like this comes with significant cost—travel, accommodation, food, kit, fixtures, and cultural experiences.
In the current climate, this is a stretch for many families.
And we are determined that no player misses out on this opportunity due to financial barriers.
That’s where you come in.
Your support will directly help fund:
• Essential tour kit and equipment
• Flights and travel costs
• Accommodation and food
• Cultural excursions and educational experiences

What Your Support Means
This isn’t just a donation.
It’s giving a young person the chance to:
• Represent their programme and their community on an international stage
• Step outside their comfort zone and grow
• Build confidence, independence, and resilience
• Experience cultures and history that will stay with them for life
It’s helping create memories, friendships, and moments that will never be forgotten"
