Let’s help Shawn & Sheila Smith

As many of you know, our good friends and long time residents of Krum , Shawn & Sheila Smith, were recently in a bad automobile accident while in West Texas attending a church retreat. They are friends to everybody here and have 3 great, respectful, hardworking young adult kids whom you may know from growing up here.

Clayton Smith - Co-owner of 2 Pros Welding and also works in the oil field industry.

Cheyenne Smith - One of our NT rodeo Fairgrounders working in the equestrian/rodeo field.

Conway Smith - currently serving in the US Marines who had to take leave for 3 weeks as he came to help his parents due to this accident.

While on a highway, they had a front tire blowout causing the vehicle to swerve into the ditch and roll multiple times. They were hospitalized in ICU for several days and after Shawn was released he stayed in a hotel while Sheila awaited to be transported to a local hospital back home.

Meanwhile, Shawn continued daily testing and therapy at a center in Dallas having someone drive him there everyday for 3 weeks. He has still not been ok’d to drive long distance under CDL guidelines and that is his primary source of income as a truck driver. Sheila is now working from home however limited on what she can do and has had 2 surgeries and has 1 more to go and possibly another ahead of her.

Our friends still have a long road to recovery and could use our help right now. Today it is them, tomorrow it could be us.

I’d like to ask each and every one of y’all to come together and let’s help this family out during this time. I’ve had several people reach out to me at the taco shop and even more at the fair and rodeo asking if I was going to put something together for them as they were willing to help so here’s our opportunity to do so now. I thank you all for any donation you can make.
