Over the weekend I noticed that Athena didnt look like she was feeling well. She wasn't eating as much and more sleepy. Come Tuesday she was intermittently having increased respiratory rate but went away when sleeping. Well this morning i listened to her lungs and heard crackles and her work of breathing significantly increased, she started vomiting up foam and had loose stools. My vet suggested we take her to ER right away. Almost 12 hrs later and we still dont have a definitive answer. They ended up seeing fluid around her lungs and removed over a liter of fluids. They are thinking A. Infection or B. Cancer. They suggested follow up with specialist because they think the fluid is going to come back until we find the cause. Anyone who knows me knows my animals are my babies. Today's vist was very costly and she is going to need further diagnostics and treatment. They want to send her fluid off to see if they can see infection and also want to do a CT. Im asking for some help, any amount would be appreciated, as I dont know what the future entails. Say some prayers for my baby girl.
