Amy's Fight Against Leukemia

Hi, my name is Nicole and I am raising money for my big sister Amy, who was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia, also known as AML. In her case, it is extremely aggressive, and she has not left Mass General Hospital in Boston since the day of her diagnosis on January 3, 2023.

My sister plays many roles: she is a wife to Noel, a fantastic mom to her son Tyler and stepmom to Alli, a daughter, a great sister, and an amazing aunty to her nieces and nephews. She is the type of person who would do anything to help someone in a tough situation. It came as a shock when she was diagnosed with AML and we are all devastated as she is an integral part of our family.

AML is a fast-growing type of leukemia that starts in the bone marrow and often moves quickly to the blood, as it has with Amy. It interferes with the body's production of white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets. By the time Amy reached the hospital the dr told her that her white blood cell count was so low that it was like a car running with no oil, ready to explode. Amy's treatment started immediately with aggressive chemotherapy and she will need a bone marrow transplant in the near future.

At this time, Amy is unable to work. Any donations raised through this Go Fund Me will be used to cover bills and expenses that she incurs during her fight against leukemia, such as uncovered medical expenses, household bills, food and travel expenses.
