With great hope, I am sharing the battle my sister, Haleigh, has been faced with. After Haleigh had a PET scan in February 2024 to rule out other issues, a cancerous tumor was found on her pancreas. It was a complete and gut wrenching shock to receive the news. Like Haleigh, the cancer is a one in a million type that is rare. She has decided to undergo treatment at MD Anderson to receive the best possible care and shot at beating this. Unfortunately, her health insurance is not accepted at MD Anderson and she is tasked with not only battling this terrible diagnosis but paying for her treatments, housing, and other necessities out of pocket while being unable to work. Her husband, Charles, and two daughters, Avery (4) and Luna (2), will be relocating from Nevada to Texas during her treatments to be together. We ask for any help, no matter big or small, for her family during this time. Haleigh has the determination and strength to get through this! She is everybody's biggest cheerleader, with an energy that lights up a room. It is now our turn to be her cheerleaders and support her and her family during this time.
