In the fall 2013, my wife, Sandy, was admitted to the St, Catharines Hospital with her legs swollen and she could not walk by herself.
The doctor on call, after a lot of questions, decided she would order a Cat Scan. It showed a mass or tumour on the brain (3cm) and she scheduled surgery in Hamilton. (about 50km ) The surgery was performed and the mass was removed successfully. It turned out that the mass was not malignant(phew).
Sandy returned to the St. Catharines Hospital to continue the search for her original condition. That evening she had severe chest pains and the next morning it was discovered that the pain was from a Heart attack. Back to Hamilton for an Angiogram. It was found that she had nine blockages in her arteries, 3 of which were 100%. The arteries were too small for bypass or stints. Back to St. Catharines. It turned out that the swollen legs were due to failed kidneys. This brings us to Early January 2014 when Sandy was put on Dialysis and still on today.
I am a real estate salesperson and as the only care giver with no medical insurance, the result has caused extreme hardship emtionally and financially. This is the reason for my reaching out for help. I intend to continue raisung funds to help others.
By the way, I am 72 years old and have been diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease. The money raised will help me afford the privilege of being a 24 hour care giver. The excess amounts raised will be used to setup a not for profit corporation that will continue to help care givers that find themselves in a financially challenged situation. This corporation will raise funds that will help find cures for Diabetes and Parkinson's Disease. Living with these diseases find it difficult for care givers financially. This is where your donation is required.
I appreciate your help.
