Dan's Medical Expenses

Dan is officially cancer free. The surgeons called Madeline last night at 7:30PM to let her know that every mass and diseased bone was successfully removed. Tuesday’s surgery was 8 hours and yesterday’s was a very long 18 hours. Both surgeries were a massive success thanks to his amazing A Team at Mayo Clinic.

The recovery process is going to be a long one and Dan will still be out of work for some time. He will be in the hospital for 10 days. After that, an expected 8 week recovery period for him to feel relatively more like himself and a long 12 month period for him to feel completely normal due to his spinal surgery.

We are all so appreciative of the love and support that these two have received this past year. Please continue to show your love in any way you can and cheer them on as they enter to their new normal.

After a long 2024, we just got word that Dan’s surgery has been scheduled for the end of this month. It will be a two part surgery - one for placing rods and screws in his back in order to provide support, the other for his RPLND where they will remove four masses, remove bone that has metastatic disease and then replace it with healthy bone.

Dan and Madeline will be at Mayo Clinic for two weeks. During those two weeks, Dan will be in surgery and recovery while Madeline will be splitting time between sitting with him during the day and logging into work in the evenings so that she can continue to support their household. Recovery time after an RPLND along with back surgery will take about two months.

With the new year comes new medical bills and a two week bill for housing in Rochester so that Madeline can stay near Dan through all of this. If you have the means, please help support them one more time.
