Ken Perry is a U.S. Air Force veteran, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Ken’s life completely changed after his doctors found a tumor in his brain and he was diagnosed with grade 4 Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) – a fast growing, very aggressive brain cancer. Ken had neurosurgery in January 2015 to remove the tumor and then suffered a stroke in recovery. He has had 30 radiation and chemo treatments and is scheduled to begin another round of chemo this month. Short term disability through Ken’s employer ran out and he does not have long term available so he has been without income since March 2015. While he hopes to return to work, he is still recovering and has just begun 8 weeks of rehab therapy. Ken has started on the long road to recovery but, medical bills are stacking up and causing even more stress.

Those are the facts, but what those words don’t tell you is anything about the man that Ken is.
Ken is my best friend, my husband and the love of my life. He is the most determined, hardworking and thoughtful person you will meet, and he displays those qualities in everything he does. Community involvement is important to him and he is active with the Central Minnesota Bicycle Club and the Camp Ripley Veteran’s State Trail Committee. He is a trouble shooter and prides himself on being able to build or “create a fix” for anything. He is strong, determined and committed to the challenge of recovery – regardless of how difficult or complicated it might be. Ken is a fighter!! Even after his surgery and before he could speak again he would growl and tighten his fist to tell me, “I am strong and we will do this!”
We are a blended family and Ken loves all of our children and grandchildren very much. At 51 he is a “young” grampa and is very active with our grandbabies. We are avid bicyclers and gardeners and he has instilled in all of them the love of cycling and gardening, too.
You never think you are going to be in the situation of asking for help, but that is where we find ourselves. :( We are grateful for the savings we had, but unfortunately we’ve depleted those due to extreme medical expenses since January and several months of lost income. I continue to work and my employer has been wonderful at allowing me the time off to take Ken to appointments, tests, etc; but it is all without pay. -- Ken spent 17 days in the hospital in Jan/Feb and another 17 in April trying to get the brain seizures under control. In addition, there are several treatment options and clinical trials that are not covered by insurance that we would really like to explore. He is doing great in his fight and I am so proud of him!
Our friends, family and coworkers encouraged us to create a GOFUNDME account – and that brings us here. Would you please consider a donation of any amount? We would be incredibly grateful and will do our best to “pay it forward” as we are able. Thank you so very much. ~ Blessings to you!
Here are four things you can do within the next ten minutes to support Ken:
1. Please keep Ken and his wife, Kimberly in your prayers.
2. Remember to share this request with your friends—forward it to as many people as you can!
3. Any amount you can donate to help meet these medical expenses is so appreciated.
4. Your prayerful support and monetary donations are such a blessing to us!
Let's get the word out there and Help Ken Kick Cancer!!
Thank you!
