At only 23 weeks into her pregnancy, my daughter Ashley went into pre-term labor. While examining her, we found out she has an incompetent cervix. Unfortunately, her amniotic sac was already starting to bulge through her cervix, so they were unable to stitch it up. She was transferred by ambulance to Forsyth Medical Center, where she will spend the remainder of her pregnancy. She continues to have contractions and is monitored closely, but Baby Mason can come at any time. The sooner he comes, the more time he will have to spend in the NICU.
With all that being said, Ashley will not be able to work for 4 months at the minimum, and Samuel will have to be out of work too so he can help care for Ashley and be there when Mason comes. We live and work over an hour from the hospital so if her water breaks and they have to deliver, there is not enough time for Samuel to get there and be there for the birth of his son. They don't need to worry about anything except Mason right now! That is why I set this page up for them, to help them not have to worry about their regular bills. Any help you are able to give would be greatly appreciated! It will help a Mommy and Daddy be able to both be there to care for their child in this time of need. Thank you all in advance!
