I need new teeth!
Donation protected
I usually am not vocal about my teeth and only talk a little about my diabetes, so it feels strange to ask for help this way, but I have seen many others have great success on this platform in just asking for help, so here I am, trying it.
Hi, my name is Cory, and I am a type 1 diabetic who, as a result, has lost all but six teeth due to blood sugar damage. I have had a complete upper denture for almost 12 years but no lower, meaning I have been chewing only on my front teeth for 12 years. My remaining six teeth on the bottom front are at a point where they finally have to go, they are causing intense pain at this point, so I know that another abscess is on the near horizon.
I have had a complete dental evaluation done, and the work needed is an extraction of my remaining six teeth, two lower jaw implants, a full lower that attaches to those implants, and a new full upper to match the new teeth. All of this cost is just under fourteen thousand dollars. My medical insurance covers only a tiny portion of this cost, and follow-up fees are not captured in the evaluation.
I would never expect anyone I know to take on an extreme burden to help me financially. I only am asking through this route because I see no clear path forward for some time unless I find assistance.
Having this fix would be a game changer in my life, allowing me to chew my food entirely for the first time in over a decade and having health benefits down through the topics of digestion and Diabetes.
To anyone who has the space for this need, I thank you in advance. Blessings to all!
