Having a keen eye for fashion and style at a young age, I, Derek Briggs, have taken every opportunity to stand out, not just amongst my colleagues, but in this fashion forward society. Coupling vintage clothing with today’s trends, allows me to incorporate my “method of madness” with styling for any occasion. In my element, I quickly transform into Kered Lamaaj, a celebrity fashion consultant that will have all eyes on you and your style. Whether in the work place, mid-week happy hour, Awards ceremony or even a family gathering, you will be engulfed in Kered Lamaaj’s simple, yet eye catching, classic, yet modern style that will have everyone talking.
IT'S TIME!!!!
It's time to face my biggest fear.......SUCCESS. I've silenced those inner voices of doubt, and discouragement that have crippled me along my journey. Voices such as:
"No one will support or believe in my potential"
"I don't have enough experience"
"You're not smart enough"
"You don't belong in this industry"
I refuse to allow my insecurities and other people's perceptions and expectations determine my SUCCESS!
Overcoming the fear of failure, financial setbacks while pursuing this dream, and most importantly.....my fear of actually SUCCEEDING in the fashion industry, has shaped me into the man and passionate leader that I am today.
Recently, a close friend and fellow Greek colleague referred me to THE SCHOOL OF STYLE (www.theschoolofstyle.com) . Unlike traditional fashion schools, School Of Style will teach me every aspect of the styling industry through a series of innovative classes, all in an extremely short period of time – and at a fraction of the cost. The School of Style attributes their exceptionally high student success rate to this teaching model and to the fact that their classes are taught exclusively by stylists who are active and successful in the industry, and therefore able to deliver the most relevant and current information.
After five years of struggling with doubting my own potential and allowing those "voices" to dictate my journey, I am finally stepping out on faith, with action, and following this passion that has been embedded in my heart.
It took me 5 years and an email from The School of Style to believe it, but now it's a reality. The School of Style, will serve as the catalyst that will help me to effectively assist others in making "personal statements" with my Kered Lamaajs' "method of madness". I only put out "A" work, so that my customers will be on their "A" game!

Due to scholarships and grants not being offered through/for this program, or the ability to borrow any more educational loans, I have decided to do something non-traditional. I am campaigning on GoFund me for the fulfillment of my dream. I would like to learn, explore, and utilize the fundamentals of the business and art of styling, and conclude with experiential, hands-on training courses that will give me an unparalleled, realistic view of the business from the ground up.
Once I complete all of my core classes, I will finally be eligible for the much anticipated Style Society graduate benefit program, through The School of Style! The School of Style will provide me and other members of my cohort with direct introductions to key industry professionals in order to help further facilitate my success. This is just one of the many ways in which, "The School of Style" will help me to achieve my dreams and goals as a celebrity stylist and consultant.
ALL of the past graduates have gone on to work with world-famous stylists like June Ambrose, Monica Rose, Arianne Phillips, Johhny Wujek, and Colleen Atwood, as well as countless top fashion photographers, magazines, and celebrities.

Q: What do you enjoy the most about styling others?
A: I love creating "personal statements" through style and fashion. I also enjoy seeing others shine and stand out from my unique pairing of classy, modern, yet vintage pieces.....I have A LOT to say and I'm able to do that through these pieces.
Q: Why did you wait so long to penetrate this industry?
A: I recently loss my job due to budget cuts. However, I believe my God is a God of opening doors to the unknown and unexpected. After praying and fasting, I believe that God has opened a door for me to pursue a career in Celebrity Fashion Consulting and Styling. I don't believe in a time stamp on pursuing my life's passion. I feel like my time is now!!!
Q: What is your "method of madness"?
A: Simply put, taking the unusual and making it a conversation piece.
