Right now, most people find good subreddits the same way they find good restaurants in a new city: by accident. You click around, you try a few, and you mostly give up. Then one day you finally land in the right place and think, Oh. This is what I was looking for.

SFWDOG is a project to index and categorise every public subreddit into a clean directory, so you can get to that “right place” on purpose.

Why we’re raising money

Subreddits are messy. Same topic, ten different names. One community fits three categories. Another one breaks all the rules.

Getting the taxonomy right takes real human judgement and a lot of hours. And building the index at this scale needs servers and AI tokens.
