"Shannon's Visions of the future"
Hello and Thank you for taking the time to read and consider donating. This is a shortened version of what's been a very long lifetime of change for Shannon Beasley.
Shannon was a 29 Year old female and a Deputy Court Clerk working in the Meade County Circuit Clerks office and had been employed there since high school as a co op student.
In 2005 Shannon started her journey of continuous headaches that worsened tremendously. Through the next several months the headaches increased to even seeing floating spots. Her local family doctor treated her and ran several test including going to a Doctor (Specialist). Unfortunately the specialist failed to diagnose Shannon's disease adequately after numerous test and exams.
In March of 2006 Shannon was rushed to the emergency room at Jewish Hospital in Louisville Ky with extreme headaches and literally was unable to close her eyes completely. The doctor that Shannon met her angel doctor as she refers to him, because for the first time someone knew what was wrong with her.
She was diagnosed as having a new disease known as Pseudotumor Cerebri and with that she had excess brain fluid/pressure that led to her having to have an emergency shunt surgery to relieve the pressure off her brain. Below is a link to the disease and symptoms.

After healing from the surgery doctors told her she still had pressure on her optic nerves in which she travelled to University of Kentucky for a specialist/Surgeon. Unfortunately now as time had started to pass her vision began to decrease due to the pressure on her optic nerves. Comparing to a camera it is the mechanism that produces the image through the lens of the camera. Basically Shannon's eyeballs were fine which would be compared to a lens on a camera.
After several trips to U of K and time becoming a factor on her sight as it got worse. Unfortunately after delays and decisions made on a disease that was new. And doctors decisions that led to finally being the complete demise of Shannon's eye sight as her optic nerves were damaged.. She became blind and medically retired early from her career she loved.
Throughout the more than 10 years she has had to learn skills and numerous ways of life for a sight impaired person. She attended an adult school of the blind for 9 months for many of these skills. She has constantly kept up with new research and medical break throughs. Even calling major universities in which she was told many times that stem cell research and use may be her only chance to ever see anything besides shadows again. Unfortunately stem cell research has been a very slow process at being approved by the U.S. government.
Recently she received a video clip and information from a news channel in Florida (link listed below) from Jerry Cox, friend and ex father in law. It was what she had finally been hoping and praying for. "A Chance", "Hope", and the possibility of being a part of a clinical trial.

Unfortunately like some clinical trials that have federal funding and such things as a pharmaceutical company backing the trial this one is not free. Shannon will have to raise/pay $19,600 dollars for this clinical trial and that does not include expenses for traveling lodging to Fort Lauderdale Florida. Shannon has been officially approved and qualifies for this Clinical Trial.
So here we are today: Asking for anyone and everyone to please find it in your hearts to help in making this chance a closer reality by helping to raise funds to help "Shannon's Visions of the future".
An account has been set up at the Meade County Bank in Brandenburg, Ky where donations can also be made anytime. (Donations can be anonymous as well)
i know Shannon will be very Thankful and overwhelmed by any and all of your donations and support. Please look for her future Facebook page that will keep everyone updated on her Journey.
