In Loving Memory of Channy Kang

Hello loving family and friends,

On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, our beloved and beautiful Channy decided to start her life in Heaven, leaving her one and only son. Her battle on Earth was a tough one but she sure did put up a fight till the very end.

One random summer day, Channy started to feel intense back pains. She attended numerous doctor visits and waited two months until she was diagnosed with Metastatic (Stage IV) Breast Cancer in July 2020. Since it was Stage IV, the doctor regretted informing us that the cancer metastasized (spread) to her bones as well as her uterus, diagnosing her with Uterine Cancer.

Due to a random spike in her cancer markers, we found out that the Breast Cancer had spread to her liver in October 2022. This is when she had to take on more aggressive treatment, IV chemotherapy. The treatment led to a bad and rare reaction as she received excruciating 3rd-degree burns, causing the doctors to switch to a more conservative approach that will allow her to continue her journey at home. It was not an easy release from the hospital, Channy had to remain stable as well as progress in her physical therapy.

But if you know Channy, you know she goes crazy for the holidays and family events. Even from the hospital, she planned and looked forward to our annual Thanksgiving. She was determined to make a speedy recovery home before the holidays and was able to come home two days before Thanksgiving! This holiday season, we were fortunate enough to celebrate Christmas twice, her favorite holiday.

But a few days after we celebrated her surprise 40th birthday party, Channy was rushed to the Emergency Room. She was later admitted to the ICU where the entire family was able to give our goodbyes. On February 22, Channy left this Earth to continue a greater journey with the Lord.

To many people, she was such a kind, loving, and silly human being. She was the best mom, sister, daughter, aunt, best friend, and friend to all. Channy was always so strong and wanted to keep fighting to spend more time with her loved ones, who meant the world to her. She wanted to keep fighting to see her only son graduate in May. She wanted to keep fighting to see him turn 18, where she can be at peace to know she raised him throughout his entire childhood.

We are asking for any support from friends and family to help wherever they can! No amount is too small and we thank you for supporting Channy through her journey! We hope to use the proceeds raised to help with her memorial and her son’s new journey.

Love,
The Kang Family
