It was one month ago today that Tera had surgery to repair a major wound that tore through several layers of muscles down to the bone, exposing and damaging her sciatic nerve. She is recovering slowly, but is staying positive and continues to smile that beautiful smile! She is hopeful that the Dr will allow her to start walking and bearing weight on her right leg in 2-3 weeks. She is still suffering from intense muscles spasms, sciatic nerve pain, and pain at the site of the wound itself. Please continue to pray that Tera heals and has no permanent nerve damage or chronic pain. Please also pray for courage and strength for Tera as she will begin physical therapy in the next month or so…and that will likely be when a whole new battle begins for her ❤️ As always, thank YOU..for what you’ve done, there are no words.

A quick update for all of you who may be wondering…Tera is glad to be in her own bed as she recovers. She’s having a very difficult time getting around, and still has intense pain. She fell on a very sharp object which caused a very large, deep wound that went almost to the bone, exposing her sciatic nerve along with causing an arterial bleed. Thus, the need for such immediate medical care. Please focus your prayers around the healing of her wound and especially her sciatic nerve; that God heals her over time without any long term or permanent pain through the right side of her body.
Tera cries when we talk about all of your generosity…and says, “how could I possibly repay them for what they’ve done?”…and I tell her something that someone else said to me during this process: that this outpouring of love is a direct response to the beautiful person she IS and always has been. And that couldn’t be more true! Her life is testament enough! THANK YOU ALL! I’m shaking as I type because those two words don’t even come close to what I wish I could tell you. But..THANK YOU!! ❤️

Here’s the ray of sunshine everyone has been waiting to see ❤️ She has been released and is home for rest and recovery. The Dr’s were able to finally manage her pain. Since her wound looks as good as it does they’ve allowed her to go home to her husband and children, where she will be most comfortable. She has read, or been relayed, every single message of love and support that you’ve offered. Please trust that each donation is already being allocated appropriately toward Tera’s medical expenses in the Bahamas. This family is FOREVER GRATEFUL to each and every one of you.

Words cannot express the gratitude that this family has for your generosity, and how you’re helping them get through such a difficult time in their lives. Tera is in good spirits..there truly is “No place like home”. The surgical team here said that the Dr in the Bahamas did a great job from what they see. Her recovery has begun & her number one goal is getting home to her children; she is THE most amazing mother (as you may know)!! I can’t emphasize enough the role that you have all played in this process. You have given so selflessly & without hesitation. Tera & Justin are completely overwhelmed with your love and generosity. THANK YOU

A huge victory tonight that EVERY single one of you played a part in-Tera is back in the the US, and just landed in Cleveland. Unable to fly commercially, the only way to get her home was by MEDEVAC. That was only possible because of the generosity of so many wonderful people. THANK YOU-from the depths of hearts, THANK YOU!! Please continue to pray for her recovery as the family will finally get a close look at what the future may hold.
7:25am 2/9/23 It’s been an enormous struggle trying to arrange getting Tera out of the Bahamas and back to the states. For transparency purposes, I want you to know that I’m increasing the goal because costs are booming. In no way is this an exaggeration. It’s very uncertain what will be covered by insurance & that process could take months. She has a long recovery ahead of her as well. The injury caused damage to her sciatic nerve and she will need a lot of care in the coming months. Cards are being used to the max. Tera is always the first to help anyone in need; a heart of gold. All pride aside-the family cannot thank you enough. I will update again later today. She wants you all to know how much she loves you and appreciates all of your prayers and everything else you might be doing to help. Thank YOU!
9:40am 2/8/23. Tera is still in an incredible amount of pain. Her family is working feverishly to get her back to the US so she can receive the best care possible. I talked to her this morning & she wept when she learned of this outpouring of love and generosity.
Update: 7:30pm 2/7/23 she is out of surgery. All of her medical attention in the Bahamas has required full payment up front. With life flight and surgery, and the unknown days ahead, your donations mean everything!
The words THANK YOU don’t even come close to what I wish I could tell you. You all are SO amazing and you are helping this family SO MUCH!! Thank you!!!!!
****** Family, friends & wonderful strangers-it’s time we all come together in support of the Bennett family. Tera suffered a serious injury while on vacation in the Bahamas with her lifelong girlfriends. Tera was life-flighted and is having emergency surgery in the Bahamas. Without going into too much personal detail, you can imagine the out of country expenses. Her girlfriends moved mountains to get her the help she needed right away. Her police officer husband, Justin, flew down immediately to be with her.
Tera and her husband Justin have five children, and as much as I'm sure she doesn’t want me to do this, I know how much everyone loves her and would want to help.
-Let’s all come together to let them know how much we love & care about them.
-Let’s ease any burden that might come with future flight expenses, hotels, food, medical bills etc etc!
-Let’s show the Doylestown girl with the biggest heart in the world just how much everyone cares about her!
*Tera is my best friend-I want you to know that 100% of any money donated will go directly to her family.*
