Jerry's Memorial
Donation protected
Unfortunately my son, Jerry was killed in a car accident while he was on his way to the Blue Grass Festival in Telluride CO this June. This festival was something he truly looked forward to each year. He and his camping crew called themselves "Camp Run A Muk" where Jerry was known for his scheduling prowess, cooking his special sour dough pancakes and opening those around him to love and care. His nickname, Hippie Jerry, was well fitting.
He was much loved by me and his many friends.
Jerry was a man who focused heavily on nature conservancy. He spent time in his twenties volunteering in Noatak, Alaska to address the aftermath of the Valdez oil spill. This suited him so well, he later on became a seasonal ranger in this area. He was also on a backcountry Hot Shot crew based in Yosemite National Park. His dedication of the outdoors will not be forgotten.
His love of the outdoors was matched by his love of the arts. Jerry worked for years as the unofficial manager of the community theatre called, "Dance Palace". He used his theatre management degree to book acts that would bring in diverse audiences.
In his free time, Jerry volunteered for Point Reyes community radio station, KWMR. This fed his love working with radios. He and I share this love and worked weekly on improving our Ham radio abilities.
No matter what Jerry was working on, the one constant was his dog Mika. She was his light, love and his partner. We know they are now together, watching over each other in the afterlife.
Please consider donating in remembrance; any amount is appreciated. All funds will be used for final expenses and any excess will be donated to his favorite charities.
