Cancer - Let’s kick it!!!

Donation protected
Hi my name is Erin Lafromboise and I would like my childhood friend Mariah to not have to worry about money while she kicks cancers butt.

Please read her story below. Let’s stand with her as she would with all of us!

“This life is so unpredictable…So much can change in days, minutes and seconds of our lives. When we are plugging along, living life to the fullest and then all of the sudden we are stopped in our tracks by the unthinkable….

CANCER. It strikes when we aren’t ready and knocks us off our feet. Many many brave women and men have battled this ugly disease and I have the utmost respect for them. I’ve never feared getting sick, even with the other “c” word happening over the last couple years. It always just pushed me harder to take even better care of myself! Eating right, working out, breathing in fresh air, praying and not living in fear.

Well the other “C” word struck. On March 2nd, 2022 I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I haven’t shared publicly up till now because I wanted to be able to let my sweet 2022 brides know first. My clients mean the world to me and my photography business has blessed this family of mine financially for the last 15 years so I wanted to make sure I was handling all that right first. I am still not sure until after surgery what I will be facing, but hoping and praying I can shoot what I have on my books for the rest of the year. I may not be able to take on any new clients at this point

For me this journey needs to be an open book. For some it may be a private journey, but having 4 girls, I need to be an advocate for them and other women. I need to teach them early how to be proactive in fighting this. I was so naive to cancer before my diagnosis and now I am on a mission to share and document my journey for my girls, but for others as well.

These past three weeks my life has been turned upside down, but it’s fueled me to research everything I can about this ugly life sucking disease. And unbeknownst to me, more women than I realized and knew personally had already been through it or are just going through it. Its unbelievable to me, but 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with some form of breast cancer. it’s maddening.

It’s been so reassuring to talk with so many amazing women who have walked before me, have shared every detail and resource given to them and have so graciously been open with me. It’s this sisterhood of cancer fighters/ survivors that I knew nothing about, but they have taken me under their wing and have made my upcoming cancer journey doable, relatable and more.” - Mariah Allen
