Support Jason’s Fight Against Cancer

JayJay’s Journey …. As most of you know my brother in law has been battling cancer for the past year. Last August he was diagnosed with non-Hodgkins t-cell lymphoma. The good news was it was a curable cancer, the bad news was its a also very aggressive. He began chemo in December. In March he developed new symptoms including an excruciating headache, seizures and loss of vision. He went in for more testing. At this time they discovered it had spread to his meninges(spinal fluid). This was terrible news because now doctors said it was not curable and it left him completely blind in one eye and only able to see shadows with the other. Jason wasn’t ready to give up so he continued treatment. In June his face began to droop and speech was slurred . After 8 rounds of chemo through the port in his head and 6 rounds through his chest he went for a PET scan. On August 13th we got the unexpected awesome news that against all odds he received a miracle! His PET scan results showed he was in 100% remission and cancer free. Unfortunately this was a very short part of his journey. Within 3-4 weeks he developed a severe headache, his face began to droop again, he was nauseous, lost his vision completely and ended up back in the hospital, only to discover the cancer had returned. Hes continuing to fight this battle but it’s getting harder every day. Currently being hospitalized. Due to thrush and difficultly swallowing they had to put a feeding tube in today. He will receive another chemo treatment tomorrow and hopes to come home after that to be with his family.

During this difficult time they have occurred financial struggles. My sister has missed countless days of work to be by his side for appointments, treatment and hospital stays. They are starting to fall behind due to recent changes in circumstances. Although they have been blessed with their jobs he recently lost his health insurance which is just another added financial stress.

Seeking lots and lots of prayers for strength, comfort and healing. We need another miracle!! Hoping too relieve some of their financial burdens with this fundraiser. They are not looking for a handout but could certainly use the help right now while seeking alternative disability options and assistance to help them through this. Once everything gets sorted out we plan to pay it forward to another family in need. Thank you in advance to anyone who is able to donate or say a prayer
