Hi my name is Kaye Williams and my family is raising money for my niece Zella Beers who is 18 years old and just graduated from Stillwater High School. Her plans were to attend Williamette University in Salem, OR, but those plans have been put on hold.

This has been a tough week for our family. Zella has been in pain for years and over the course of the past few weeks, it became unbearable. She had been diagnosed with juvenile rheumatoid arthritis and had become accustomed to tolerating extreme pain. We finally went to the ER last Friday. Turns out it was a bone cancer called Ewing Sarcoma that has metastasized to stage iv. We came to OU Children’s hospital where we discovered the tumor in her spine had been slowly crushing her vertebrae and constricting her spinal cord. Monday, she had surgery to remove the tumor and add screws and supports. She has had a port placed, undergone all the tests, and is ready to begin an aggressive chemo regimen tomorrow which will continue for 6 to 8 months.
