Help Me Get To NY 9.28.19 to 10.5.19
Donation protected
In July of this year I entered a show in July of this year...and 2 of my submissions were accepted. This is a validation and an honor for me as a photographer and the very first time it has ever happened.
For the first time ever, I am turning to the community I surround myself both personally, professionally and Facebook wise and asking if you would help me in reaching the completion of a dream.
Why do I want to go to New York City? The first and most important one is to allow me to be there on Opening Night and see my images hanging on the wall.
The second is to finish a conversation with Abigail Ekue, the Creator and Curator of this show. So that I can work on the possibility of bringing her show, Bare Men to Austin. You may not agree with the content of the imagery and that is ok, I hope you choose to support me in accomplishing a goal.
The third and last reason is the networking and contacts I am hoping to to make in the NY Art Scene.
Here is the Budgetary Breakdown. I need to obtain the first $1500 in the next week.so by 9.10.19 as I need to bring the images to print and purchase a ticket to NY.
The Remaining $2100:
A place to stay while in NY City, food and incidentals and to cover a week off work. The remaining $2100.00 need to be obtained no later than 9.20.19
As a photographer bringing an image to print is more than just hitting print. It is deciding on the presentation. I am bringing these two images to print as Dibond Aluminum Acrylic Prints. The prints are printed on metallic paper, bonded to Aluminum and then covered in 1/2 inch of Acrylic. This allows the colors to absolutely step off the paper by making them look brilliantly colored and full of depth.
I am offering some gifts of gratitude to those friends who can be super generous:
I have two framed western prints for 2 $500.00 contributors
I have 4-- 2 hour Photo shoots for 4 $250.00 contributors
I have 2--4 hour Photo shoots for 2 $1000.00 contributors
Individual thank you cards) for anyone who donates in the $1 to $249 level.....
I cannot even begin to explain what feelings I experienced when I woke up that Morning and saw the Email Headline that said
CONGRATULATIONS: YOUR ART HAS BEEN ACCEPTED, the feeling that your art has been seen and validated by someone who only knows you by the image you sent in...is truly indescribable.
I realize how damn tight everyone’s budget is. I know mine is but I give because I know what it feels like to have very little and I know that my contribution makes a difference to the person it supported and I believe we should be each others cheerleaders when it comes to dreams.
I have 1064 Personal Facebook Friends and if each person contributed $3.50 I would make my goal in no time flat....that is less than ONE Artisan Coffee...anywhere...and your support would make an ENORMOUS difference in my life....
Thank you in advance for being a supporter. I will post updates frequently here as well as on my Personal and Studio Wylde Soul Photography Page.
Thank you so much, this was a really hard thing for me to do.
