The Little Fish Company has been receiving tons of Facebook posts, pm’s, emails and text messages from our customers asking how they can help us after the devastating fire at San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf. We are so grateful for the support we are getting from all of our fans. We will be fine, but many of our friends will not survive without your help.
We are a commercial fishing family that is fortunate enough to have diversified years ago when we launched our retail seafood company. The Little Fish Company sources it’s wild caught seafood from our own boats, and those of the hard working men and women from up and down the coast. Unfortunately, others affected by the fire aren’t as fortunate.
For those asking how they can help The Little Fish Company, we are asking you to put your support behind those less fortunate than us. The men and women who risk their lives everyday to go out an harvest the bounty of the Pacific for you to enjoy.
Many of these men and women are 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th generation fisherman. This dying industry and way of life is the only thing they know. The fire has left their boats, but has taken all of their gear and equipment from their storage shed at Fishermen’s Wharf. For some, it was a lifetime of accumulations.
Losses for each operation range from $80k to $300k. This fire has robbed them of the tools they need to provide for their families and to continue feeding the country.
Instead of donating to help with our losses, just keep buying the fresh seafood you’ve been enjoying for years. Send your donations to this campaign and help the others who don’t have the direct support from the community who gets to eat the seafood they risk their lives to catch. We will make sure all proceeds go to the fisherman of San Francisco’s Fisherman’s Wharf who lost their ability to harvest because of the fire.
