For the past three decades, Giles has been a tireless advocate for at-risk youth and young adults, celebrating victories and holidays, mentoring and providing free tutoring, and lobbying for affordable housing in our community. He’s given countless hours, his own resources, and boundless compassion—always putting others’ futures before his own. Now, as he reaches a major milestone—his 50th birthday—Giles is celebrating a first in his life: a permanent house to call his own. As he has moved 500 miles from "Bee and Raven," a shop he shared with adoptive parent Kathy Rich and other amazing creative minds, we are surprising him with his own custom "mini shop," a place where he can continue his dream of creating masterpieces and educating the community around him. Now I am asking for help in making this the best birthday yet: a future full of art, music, and collaboration in a safe and affirmative community.
Our Goal
We’re aiming to raise $13,500 to cover the sewing machine (Janome Horizon!), furniture and storage solutions, and essential home renovations for Giles’ first house. Every dollar brings him one step closer to a home where he can continue his work, host community gatherings, and finally enjoy the peace he’s helped create for so many others.
How You Can Help
Donate: Any amount—big or small—makes a difference. Even a $5 contribution adds up quickly when we all pitch in.
Share: Spread the word on social media, email, or in person. The more eyes on this campaign, the faster we’ll reach the goal!
Celebrate: Join us for a virtual birthday celebration on October 19th where we’ll share stories, thank donors, and give Giles cards, notes, and videos from loved ones.
What Your Gift Means
A Creative Sanctuary: The sewing machine and shop supplies give Giles a dedicated space to teach practical skills, foster creativity, and provide therapeutic outlets for the youth he serves.
A Symbol of Community Gratitude: This house will stand as a testament to the collective appreciation of everyone whose lives Giles has touched. Help us remind Giles that he is loved, remembered, and missed- despite the long distances required to find safety and stability in our current times.
Future Impact: With a stable base, Giles can expand his mentorship programs, host workshops, and continue building safe spaces for vulnerable teens and adults.
Let’s give Giles the gift of a place where his legacy can continue to grow, and where he can finally celebrate his 50th birthday surrounded by the love and gratitude of the community he’s served for 30 years.
Thank you for your generosity, your belief in his mission, and for helping turn a lifelong dream into reality.
