A few years ago I began my career in the realm of public policy with an internship on Capitol Hill. Well, I'm proud to say that since the completion of my internship I have graduated from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in Political Science and Civic Leadership. During my undergraduate career, I have managed part-time jobs and internships with State Representative Carol Ammons.
After graduation, I accepted a Campaign Managerial role with Aaron Ammons for Champaign County Clerk. Over the past few months, I have been successful in managing a county-wide campaign in Champaign, IL. I'm proud to say that I was instrumental in helping elect the first African-American County Clerk & first Democrat to the Clerk's office in over 80 years.
Now, I have been offered an opportunity with a Government Affairs firm in Washington, D.C. for the Spring session. This experience is crucial to gaining the necessary skills & cultivating the right relationships with other professionals in this field to further advance my career. While this internship is paid, it will not be enough to cover my housing. I appreciate any assistance you may offer. Below you will find my original gofundme story.

I am a Freshman studying Political Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. Due to financial hardship, I am unable to financially support myself as I begin my career in Washington, D.C.
Recently, I was offered an internship position for Congressman Bustos' D.C. office. The experiences and knowledge that will be gained from this internship are crucial to my future success. As an independent student, I am unable to support myself in D.C. With these donated funds, I will be provided with housing to complete my internship. Without housing, I will not be able to accept this internship as a legislative aide.
I understand that many people experience many dire financial hardships, but I hope to do well in this world and to give back to my communities through political change. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
