Hello friends and family. As you may know, after 10 long years, Jon continues to face challenges with bladder cancer. Jon began hospice care in February. As he, Nicole and the boys prepared for him to leave this world Jon stabilized. So much so that he was cleared for surgery at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. On March 26th surgeons removed the left kidney, ureter, bladder, prostate and 28 lymph nodes. We pray this new palliative care plan gives Jon more days to share love with Nicole, Lincoln, Anthony, Evan and his extended family. Please follow Jon’s story on the CaringBridge site https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/seversonstrong.
Over the past few months there have been many doctor appointments, emergency room visits and days in which Nicole needed to be at Jon’s side. It didn't take long for her to exhaust the PTO she had available for this calendar year. Luckily Nicole is eligible for the Family Medical Leave Act. This allows her 12 weeks of time away from work without jeopardizing her position. As the sole financial provider for the family this unpaid leave has added to an already difficult situation.
Many of you have blessed the Severson’s with delicious home cooked meals, gift cards and your heartfelt prayers. You are truly a blessing to them!
I now ask, if you are able, assist once more in helping Jon and Nicole meet their monthly expenses. Health insurance, mortgage, utilities, etc, etc. None of this stops when one is ill. All these financial responsibilities must still be met. Plus there are the travel and hotel expenses due to Jon requiring medical care in Rochester. If you feel so led, please provide what you can to help in these areas. Any amount is appreciated. Thank you for your love and support. And especially for your continued prayers. I know it means so very much to Jon, Nicole and the boys.
