Severn Vale Hunt Sabs is a small but determined group dedicated to stopping illegal hunting of hares by organised hunts who use beagle and basset hounds to chase and kill them.
In January 2025, 4 of our group were arrested and our vehicle and equipment was seized while stopping an illegal hare hunt in Oxfordshire, following spurious accusations from the hunt.
While the charges have now been dropped - we intend to take legal action against the police for false arrest and imprisonment. As we all have jobs, we are not entitled to Legal Aid, so are asking for your help to reach the £3,000 we have been quoted to start proceedings.
Anything else will be used to help support our work protecting hunted wildlife during the 2025-26 hunting season, which is now getting under way.
