Severely Burned Young Lady
Donation protected
HI, my name is Holly, and I started this Go Fund Me for a close friend of our family. Belle is a smart, young, vibrant, and super talented lady who is only 24 yrs. old. She is currently in the ICU Burn unit at UC Davis Hospital and has been there for close to a week. They are telling us that she will be there another week before she is moved to a reg. room. She has a long painful journey ahead of her and we are praying that she heals and won't require skin grafts. Belle has 2nd degree burns on both of her thighs, abdomen, and other "sensitive" areas of her body. The pain she endures when they clean the burns is more than any of us could understand even while sedated, she cries out in severe pain. Belle stopped for soup on her way home last week and took it to go. She hopped in the car and decided to eat in the parking lot. While removing the lid some of the liquid splashed onto her hand, causing a deep 2nd degree burn. This in turn caused her to drop the soup into her lap. The soup was scalding hot and should have never been served this way as it was dangerous. She called for help and was at the hospital in less than 15 min. 11 hours in the emergency room before landing in ICU Burn unit. The doctors have not seen anything like this from soup. She has another week in ICU before they transfer her into a room for an additional week. This is a horrible accident that should have never happened. Her life has now been changed forever. She is not blessed with a strong family to help in this painful time she is on her own! I pray she will be blessed by others who will help her during her extensively long recovery. She will not longer have a job due to her recovery process and will need any and all help that she can get. She feels blessed by the ones that have checked in on her and been there this week during the worst week of her young life. If you are able we all would appreciate any amount of support that you can do!
