Bacterial Blood Infection In Thailand

Hi This is Eliana, my partner Connor is suffering from severe food poisoning in Koh Phangan Hospital in Thailand. Last night we had just a normal night and enjoyed dinner at a 4.9 starred restaurant that appeared very cleanly. Shortly after, Connor started to experience abdominal pain which quickly escalated. Soon he was dizzy, tingling, nauseated, he felt like someone had drugged him. The vomiting began and this lasted 6 hrs. Connor was not even able to stand, laying on the ground & praying for some relief, but the sickness only grew more and more severe. He lost all fluids in his body and grew delirious and gray. For hours we struggled to get him an ambulance because none of them complied due to severe weather conditions. We faced many hang ups but I kept trying. Eventually we secured an ambulance, though it was nearly too late as he had been dry heaving for hours, unable to stand or speak.

Connor doesn’t have Travel insurance.

He’s always careful and healthy and was only doing a short trip to Thailand which is a trip that he’s done many times before with no health complications. With our small budget, insurance was something we could barely afford. This incident was completely unexpected and unavoidable. For hours he asked me not to get an ambulance simply because he can’t afford it, but I knew when I saw my partner on the ground gray and lifeless that he needed help. This is where you guys come in. These medical expenses will be a great challenge for us to pay on our own and I know we are so blessed to have so many loving and supportive friends who have maybe $10-$15 to spare that would help us so greatly.

Connor’s diagnosis ended up being a bacterial infection in the blood. He is on antibiotics, painkillers, and IV drip. He is slowly recovering but the longer we stay at the hospital the higher the bill will be so this is why I turn to you for some help. Anything you can donate will help - no donation is too small.
