My name is Jessica Stinnett, on 11/09/22 I got a phone call from my husband (Seth’s daddy) stating that their was an accident and seth is severely hurt and is getting flown to children’s. We rushed to the hospital wondering if he was ok, if he was alive, we didn’t know what was going on. We were devastated, he was jumping on the trampoline and tried to do a front flip even though he knew he shouldn’t be doing them because he has had sooo many surgeries on his neck and skull because he was born with a growth defect and his elbows are fused together so he has no elbow joints, he’s has several hip surgeries and leg surgeries. This boy has been through the ringer since he was a baby. But like any 8 year old he did the flip anyways and landed on his neck. The landed knocked him unconscious and stopped his heart, his stepdad gave him cpr until the paramedics arrived and flew him out. He is paralyzed from the neck down because the landing severed his spinal cord. We do not know what the future holds or if he will ever regain his mobility. They just don’t know. The doctors are having a hard time stabilizing him. We hope to do surgery to relief some of the pressure off his spinal cord, he won’t be able to feed himself or do anything from the neck down. They have him sedated for the most part but with the Methotrexate syndrome he was born with and his low immune system we are just trying to get him stable. The disease decreases bone density and fuses them together. He is our pride and joy and we are so heart broken this has happened to him. We thank everyone who does help and we are just trying to raise as much as we can for our boys medical needs and hospital stay, even possible nursing equipment for when he comes home, IF he ever gets to come home. He will be in the hospital for a long time, but we want to be prepared because no child should have to go through this, he is scared and panicky, we are terrified for him and what’s to come. Please help us help him be as comfortable as possible. The figure price is just put there for the site, we cannot even predict how much all this will cost us.
