Thursday, March 14th, Seth Burke (45) unexpectedly suffered a massive heart attack, he flat lined for 15 minutes on the ambulance, followed by life altering seizures at the hospital. It was a long, hard 9 days at St Mary’s Hospital in Duluth before Seth went to be with Our Lord on March 23, 2019. Jackie stayed near him at the hospital his entire stay.
Jackie Burke (37) has been suffering a brutal form of MS for 10 years now. Seth was her everything and the soul provider after Jackie had to give up her job she loved. Jackie can’t move around like she used to. It’s hard for her to do lots of everyday minuscule tasks. Her body doesn’t operate like it should and her suffering ranges from painful aches to a horrible MS attack that she suffers too often. Stress is very hard on her disease!!
Their daughter Kaylee (18) along with her boyfriend Willy will be moving back in with Jackie to help with the house and younger brother James (12). Kaylee is into makeup, her kitties, and hanging with friends and is about to graduate high school next month!! James is into video games, drawing, and movies and he’s enjoying his first year of being homeschooled with Jackie!
You don’t meet a couple like Seth and Jackie everyday!! They are the kindest, most sweetest people you’ll meet. They’d literally give you the shirt off their back. They are modern day loving hippies who just want everyone to be happy!! I have never met a couple so in love with each other. They met when Jackie was only 15. Seth did everything for Jackie cuz she was his love and soulmate, and he hated to see her struggle at all!!
The Burke family need our help to get their lives back on the ground. Seth had no life insurance. Besides all the expenses of living in the hospital for 9 days, and not being able to go home since then cuz the furnace was broken, she is being sued for a $1000 dental bill she was unaware of from Seth. Before Seth passed, they had the worst luck. Everything they’d buy would always break. Their house is in need of lots of work!!! Their appliances are breaking left and right, they have a couple plumbing issues, there are several smaller electrical fixes needed, their van needs to get up and running again, so she can start driving again, and her bathtub is very unsafe for her as she keeps falling in and out of it. We’d like to lower the tub into the floor for her if possible. Along with everything else, we’d really love for them to get some new furniture as it’s gonna be very hard for her to sit on that big couch without him. We’re thinking 2 recliners instead of a couch and a loveseat. A recliner would be much nicer for Jackie as she hasn’t been finding sleeping in bed easy lately. There’s a huge void in her life in these big, empty spaces.
I dont know a family who deserves the love and kindness more!! Everything has always been hard to come by for them. I just hope we can get them comfortable and enjoy some rest and peace of mind. We need to show them some reciprocated love in their time of need and devastation!!!
