So if you want to follow the whole mad saga, I've detailed a lot of it in this Twitter thread .
The long and the short is that what began as a small bee infestation at the start of the pandemic has since blossomed into a very large hive colony in our roof. And it will cost us more than we can really afford to fix the problem. So we're asking for help.
Honey is dripping in through our ceiling; bees are coming into the bedroom through, really, who knows where; and their are bee corpses littering the ground every morning.
We've called out several people who remove hives for free and they've all told us No thanks, and then recommended Call an exterminator. We did, reluctantly. They tried twice and didn't even dent the situation.
The only solution left to us is the more expensive bee removal. Some places tell us we'll have to remove part of the roof, others tell us the ceiling. In any case, it's not a small job. They've made it sound like it could be $1500, but it also could be more.
In any case, it's a big deal to us and a risk to me (I'm allergic) and to our 4 kids. If you can help in any way, I thank you. I'm not good at asking for help, but I'm asking for help.
