UPDATE***(original story posted below starting at starred paragraph.)
Update on Seth Haugen and Family. Seth will have his selection meeting (the final step, from the medical team, for officially getting on the transplant list) Thursday, Jan 15th. The social worker said they would like him to have $36,000 saved or raised by the time of the meeting. When we started go fund me, we weren't sure on a goal to set, we just knew they would need support and help. Again this may change as things go on, but right now this is where we are at.
They are so thankful for all the support everyone has shown . It truly has been amazing, and I know they feel so blessed and loved. We wanted to update everyone with this new goal they have received if you are able to bless them by donating anything extra I know they would greatly appreciate it and they will always pay it forward when they can. Prayers are always greatly welcomed, appreciated, and so powerful.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Thank you all for the different ways you have helped. Also if you want to stay updated on how he is doing please follow his caring bridge site

***If you know Seth and Angie Haugen, whether you know them well or only have met them once, you know they are such kind and caring people. Seth and Angie live in Ortonville Mn with their adorable twin toddlers. Angie is a social worker and does incredible work as the school therapist for 7th through 12th grade. When Seth was able to work, he also worked at the school and did amazing work teaching and working with smaller groups of students giving them more individualized help, care, and attention. They truly have a heart for the kids and all people, and the kids really like and respect them too.

Recently they have been through tome trials. Seth has been in and out of many extended hospitals stays over the last few years due to infections and complications from cystic fibrosis. This has left him unable to work (direct and strict orders from the doctors.) Even through all this getting approved for disability benefits has been a challenge. There are many hoops to jump through, and it is still in the process. As you can imagine, after 1 year on one income with toddlers and many extra medical expenses bills and finances can pile up and take a toll on a family fast.

We are not sure how much to set for a target, but we must set one for go fund me, also in full transparency sometime within the next year or near future it is very possible we may be doing a benefit or another fundraiser, if there has to be a major surgery to help with cystic fibrosis. We are not sure when that will be or what that will entail. We will keep you updated with details. Right now, they could use help with all the everyday expenses and the current situation. We appreciate your support, prayers and love.

I know Seth and Angie have blessed so many people in so many ways, whether it was making you feel included, asking you how you are and really wanting to know, offering to help you in any way, and so many other ways. Now it’s our turn to bless them. If you would consider donating any amount of money to help them through this time it would be greatly appreciated. The money would go towards wherever they need it the most.

PS. If you want to send Seth a supportive message or an, I’m thinking about you, message he would really appreciate it. He really wanted to do an in-person fundraiser but with his health we didn’t want to let him risk being exposed to illnesses that could make his condition worse.

If for any reason they have some donated money they didn’t end up using, they will donate it back into the FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) in the Ortonville school or other community programs.
Though this has taken a toll on them physically and financially their spirits remain high and their faith remains strong.
