SET High School Annual Giving

There is too much pressure in the world today.  You strive to be beautiful, rich, the smartest in your class, AND the jock.  There is no room for failure, and many of you feel like the “lost and forgotten 80%”.

With social media, everyone feels that huge eye, watching every move.  It takes us away from our natural, creative selves. It takes away our passion and it stunts us from being the best person we can ever be.

Imagine what it would be like if kids can let go of that pressure? What if kids are allowed to find their passion?  What if kids are allowed to fail, and try again?  What if there was a safe place to learn and feel support from teachers, free from ridicule and bullying?

At SET High, we encourage our students to let go of the pressure and discover their passion, and voice.

All students are welcomed and included: “It’s very inclusive”
All students are given an opportunity to shine
All kids matter

Our unique social-emotional curriculum and ethos educates the whole student.

Students and staff can be their true authentic selves.

Academically, SET High offers UC A-G courses and College classes on campus.  To continue in our tradition of Entrepreneurship and Technology, SET offers Systems Administration, Robotics, Computer Science and Cyber Security classes.  Marketing and Leadership classes tie in with our Passion Talks that are delivered to the entire school every three weeks by an inspiring, successful member of the San Diego business community.  Passion Projects fuel each student’s love for learning.  Prior to graduating, SET requires an internship with an outside business, and encourages 150 hours of community service.

High School can be tough, so, students benefit from the support of two teachers per class.  Before, during lunch and after school, we offer a Help Desk with a teacher and/or peer counselors to help with homework, challenging classwork or the stresses of life.

All students are our most important Investment. Compared to the top-ten states, we at SET, are underfunded. With the help of you, our friends, we are looking to raise $2,500 per student.  With this additional infusion of capital, we can perform with even greater innovation and continue to expand upon our level of service to our students.

To show our commitment to our students, please watch the following video, which showcases who we are as a community.  All clips were taken from our first day of the 2018-19 school year.  We are confident that no other school in San Diego had a first day as inspiring as this one!
We invite you to be a part of our educational village.  Please help us fuel our future leaders and innovators!
