Hi everyone! My name is Maiya, and I’m a college sophomore on a Pre-Physician Assistant track with a heart for healthcare, service, and faith-driven compassion. From May 3–11, 2026, I have the opportunity to travel to Costa Rica on a medical missions trip in partnership with Well Child International, and I’m asking for your support to help make this calling possible.
This 9-day mission will take place in the Talamanca rainforest mountains, where our team will serve the medical and public health needs of indigenous communities. We will travel, often by foot or 4×4, to reach remote villages and provide care to individuals with limited access to healthcare. The mission is professionally planned and led, with a strong focus on compassionate and ethical service.
This trip is deeply meaningful to me as both a future healthcare provider and a person of faith. I believe serving others, especially the underserved, is a powerful way to live out Christ’s call to love our neighbors. This experience will help shape how I approach medicine—centered on empathy, dignity, and compassion.
Funds raised will help cover program fees, a non-refundable deposit, travel, lodging, meals, and medical supplies. Any amount, big or small, helps bring me closer to serving these communities!
Thank you so much for your prayers, generosity, and support. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this page means just as much. I’m incredibly grateful and look forward to sharing how God works through this experience once I return.
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace.” — 1 Peter 4:10
