“Missions exists because worship doesn’t”-John Piper
In 2017, The Gospel Coalition named Iceland “Europe’s most godless country.” In this strong nordic country I have come to love, church attendance is almost non-existent, and few understand the profound goodness of Christ. This has rendered many of our believing Icelandic brothers and sisters discouraged. Ever since I first stepped foot in Iceland two years ago, God has grown my heart for the people of Iceland. After two years of prayer, our loving God has called me to Iceland, and I do not use that terminology lightly. In January, I will be embarking on a three-month mission trip to Iceland. I will be working with Pastor Gunnar Gunnarsson and Loftstofan Baptistakirkja church to extend God’s glory among the nation of Iceland. I thoroughly believe our invisible God is to be made visible through the lives we live.
For the sake of the Gospel, I am asking for prayer. Please pray that I will diligently serve Christ in His mission for Iceland and that Icelanders will come to faith. In addition, please pray that Icelandic believers feel the encouraging love of God and are reminded of His saving grace. Finally, I am asking for financial support for the trip. If you feel called to give, any amount of money will make a difference and is greatly appreciated.
