Con un gran dolor y vacío en nuestros corazones, les informamos o confirmamos que ayer en la mañana nuestra madrecita chula y luchadora Maria Remedios Valdez (Mellos) falleció después de dar una pelea grande para combatir el coronavirus (covid-19). Recientemente ella fue diagnosticada con cáncer de ovarios y como la luchadora que era, ella lo venció, pero su cuerpo quedo débil y por esa razón se le hizo mas difícil vencer esta enfermedad. Hace tres semanas, ella se encontró con síntomas de coronavirus y nos movimos rápido para asegurarnos que se le diera el tratamiento necesario en el hospital. Si se mejoro por unos pocos días, pero desgraciadamente, no estaba funcionando el tratamiento completamente y rápido buscamos otro tratamiento que se le pudiera administrar. Con la recomendación y con la constante dirección de otro doctor en California, tomamos la difícil decisión to sacarla del hospital como ella quería para seguir el segundo tratamiento en su casa. El hospital no estaba de acuerdo con el segundo tratamiento, pero nos movimos rápido para hacer lo que ella quería.

Desde el principio de su enfermedad, ella nos decía que si ella se ponía grabe, que no quería despedirse de este mundo en una cama en el hospital sola. Ella quería estar en su casa rodeada de su familia que tanto la quería y cuidaba. En sus ultimas horas, ella estuvo rodeada de todos sus hijos, su esposo y su nieta que fue otra hija para ella. Ella seguirá siendo un ejemplo a seguir por su valentía, dedicación a su trabajo, amor a los demás y unidad familiar. Nuestra madrecita ya esta con nuestras abuelitas María Guadalupe García Parra, Maria De LaPaz Santillano y nuestra Tia Josefina Romero (QEPD). A Maria Remedios Valdez le sobreviven su esposo José Alejandro Valdez, sus 5 hijos y 11 nietos.

With great pain and emptiness in our hearts, we inform or confirm that yesterday morning our beautiful and brave mother Maria Remedios Valdez (Mellos) died after giving a big fight to fight the coronavirus (covid-19). Recently she was diagnosed with ovarian cancer and as the fighter that she was, she defeated it, but her body remained weak and for that reason it became more difficult for her to overcome this terrible virus. Three weeks ago, she started to experience symptoms of the coronavirus and we moved quickly to make sure she was given the necessary treatment at the hospital. She did improve for a couple of days, but unfortunately, the treatment was not working completely and we quickly looked for another treatment that could be administered. With the recommendation and constant direction of another doctor in California, we made the difficult decision to take her out of the hospital as she wanted to continue the second treatment at home. The hospital did not agree to the second treatment, but we moved quickly to do what she wanted.

From the very beginning of her illness, she told us that if she became very sick, she didn't want to leave this world in a hospital bed alone. She wanted to be at home surrounded by her family who loved and cared for her so much. In her last hours, she was surrounded by all her children, her husband and her granddaughter who was another daughter for her. She will continue to be an example to follow for her courage, dedication to her work, love for others and family unity. Our mother is already with our grandmothers María Guadalupe García Parra, Maria De LaPaz Santillano and our Tia Josefina Romero (RIP). Maria Remedios Valdez is survived by her husband José Alejandro Valdez, 5 children and 11 grandchildren.
