Born in the hill country of Texas in 1931, Lola Vern Lackey survived the Great Depression, and came of age during the Second World War. As a teenager she ran her own business until her husband Billy Dee Standridge swept her off her feet and into a life of motherhood, grandmotherhood and great-great-grandmotherhood. She lived her life as a sassy, tempermental, genuine person who would spank your butt or start a food fight at the dinner table, depending on how she felt. Her family was everything to her, and we all adored her.
Lola passed away peacefully the night of February 16th. She is survived by three children, six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
As much as we would wish it otherwise, for she was a proud woman who never took a dime she didn't earn, we could really use some help defraying the cost of her funeral services and burial. I don't think she'd approve of me begging for money, but I think she'll forgive me.
We would like to hold the services on Tuesday, February 21st, 2017.
Any help is welcome.
Thank you all,
