Howdy!
My name is Jordan Cox and I am a 19 year old living with chronic illness. Don’t be fooled though. I don’t believe that this illness should define me. I was diagnosed when I was younger with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome. For an active kid though I didn’t want the EDS to stop me from playing sports and being active. I love to be active. I run races, play soccer and rock climb when I feel up to it. After being diagnosed with POTS though, a cardiac condition that effects my blood pressure and my circulation, I wasn’t able to be nearly as active. POTS is a relapse and remission condition. During relapses, which are every couple of months, I can’t walk alone, get things in my apartment without help, and sometimes can't drive because I don’t know what will happen. I have never lost consciousness but I collapse to the ground and my blood pressure drops severely. Though I’ve never blacked out, I can still injure myself when I catch myself in a fall. It takes me a long time to get back up and I no longer feel safe being alone at college or at home. I have become dependent on other people like my parents or friends to move around. We never know when I will relapse and it makes my family uncomfortable to send me away to college without a constant companion. Please help me gain back my independence.
Insurance doesn't cover the cost of a service dog. This money will go towards a service dog who will help me balance, walk, and help me recover when I collapse. He will give my family back the peace of mind we lost 5 years ago.

Isaiah 40:31
"But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
