Help Manda Find Her New Service Dog

Two weeks ago, Amanda Moulton, also known as Manda, experienced a traumatic rollover car accident in Woodland, California. While driving to a funeral early on May 16, Manda swerved to avoid a sudden stop by the car in front of her. Her car rolled into an embankment, coming to rest on its hood. Miraculously, Manda, along with one of her dogs Zoe, survived the crash, but her medically necessary service dog, Harper, went missing in the chaos.

Harper, an autism service dog and medical alert dog, was Manda’s lifeline. Trained to alert her to heart issues and impending seizures, and even fetch medication, Harper was crucial to Manda's daily life and well-being. Manda was rushed to the hospital for two days, unable to search for Harper herself.

Despite the dedicated efforts of the Woodland community, Yolo County animal services, Woodland Police, and extensive social media campaigns, Harper was tragically found deceased, having been hit by a car. Manda is heartbroken and feels lost without her faithful companion, who was not just a service dog but her family and support system.

Now, as Manda works towards her physical recovery, she faces the daunting task of finding and training a new service dog. This process is incredibly expensive, often reaching tens of thousands of dollars, covering specialized training, equipment, and care.
