Service Training for Bruce
Donation protected
My name is Jaime Salazar. You don't know me, but I hope you are well. This GoFundMe project is for my friend, Michael McGurik (Or, more accurately, his dog) for training.
Mike is a father of two that suffers from a slew of medical conditions that has unfortunately rendered him on disability. Between the Blood Pressure issues and the Gastroparesis, he seems to spend half of his time collapsed on the floor.
Enter Bruce. Bruce is a 3-year old Pitbull Mix. He was adopted from the Animal Debt Project – a non-profit, no-kill center. He's a very friendly, loving dog that is patient with his kids. His favorites are are balls and empty 5-gallon buckets. Bruce is greatly attached to Mike and will follow him around all over the place and is a valued member of the family.
Mike's disability money is sadly barely enough to cover rent and putting food on the table for him and his kids (and Bruce's bowl); this training for Bruce is not something that is easily afforded. Full Training for Bruce to become a certified service animal would be FAR more than Mike can afford, but with your help we might be able to raise the $3000 needed to train Bruce with local trainers to help Mike get up off the ground when his conditions render his legs as jelly. All the trainers Mike has spoken to ask for the money up front but are willing to take him as soon as there's an opening, so the sooner we can make this goal the better, but ideally we can reach this goal by the spring.
Anything would help, even a dollar. Even if you can't afford to spare anything, it's greatly appreciated if you could pass this forward. Take care.
