Hello all,

As some may have known, David Carter Jr. or Boom Boom, had been on dialysis and struggling with the impacts of his diabetes for some time. On the morning of February 19th, David unexpectedly passed peacefully in his sleep.

David was the 2nd eldest of his 5 siblings. He loved his siblings deeply and additionally made everyone feel like kin. In his 28 years of life he spent most of it bringing joy to those around him. He was loving, funny, smart, thoughtful and just an overall joy to be around. He always had on a huge smile that matched the size of his heart. David had big goals and dreams that were sidelined by his sickness. He was motivated by passion. Passion for art, food, culture, and his people.

Our family is devastated and heartbroken at the unexpected loss of our beloved brother, son, nephew, and cousin. We know how much he meant to so many and want to honor him as best as we can, for the rest of our lives.

This unexpected tragedy has left us unprepared financially for all the costs needed to give Boom Boom a proper service. We are graciously asking for any funds to help us. All remaining donations will go to a foundation, meant to honor his legacy, love for art and others that struggle with Diabetes Type 1.
